Passing Score

You'll need at least a 75% general average to pass the LET, with no rating below 50% in any subject area. This standard applies to the Elementary and Secondary levels. The subject weights differ by coverage track.

Regular Elementary weights

The current program for Elementary examinees without a specialization assigns 40% to General Education and 60% to Professional Education.

20/40/40

Elementary with specialization

The specialized Elementary track assigns 20% General Education, 40% Professional Education, and 40% Specialization. PRC applies this track to evaluated SNE or ECE qualification paths.

Secondary weights

The current secondary-level program assigns 20% General Education, 40% Professional Education, and 40% Specialization.

3 years

Professional ID

PRC Professional Identification Cards are valid for 3 years and are renewable during the professional's birth month. Review the current PRC renewal and CPD guidance before applying.

LET Exam Levels

The Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers has two levels: Elementary and Secondary. The current exam program then separates regular Elementary examinees from Elementary examinees with specialization. Apply under the path aligned with your degree and curriculum, subject to PRC's evaluation of your transcript and credentials.

Elementary Level

For applicants whose credentials PRC evaluates under a regular or specialization Elementary path

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) or its equivalent
  • Credentials from a government-recognized institution
  • PRC determines whether the regular or specialization track applies after evaluating the degree and transcript

Secondary Level

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent with a major and minor
  • Or a BA/BS with at least 18 units of professional education
